World building with Ironswon Delve - Nocturia

Using Delve for world building... This evening I was in the mood for a bit world building and decided to use the very nice Ironsworn Delve supplement for starters.  The idea is to further supplement the setting with additional random tables as we go along. Let's roll some bones: Theme -> d8 -> rolled a 6, ravaged. Time, weather or calamity have taken its toll and laid waste to the land. A decent start for the overarching geography for this world. Features -> d20 -> rolled a 16, traces of what was lost. Dangers -> d30 -> rolled 30, ravages return anew. This should cover possible adversities or adversaries to be faced by the PCs when journeying  in this world. Our world so far... The ravaged lands of Nocturia extend as far as the I can see. The scorched earth and the Three Moons of Aledis cast strange and eerie shadows across the vale. A few ruins of once ancient and powerful lords dot the landscape. The earth and skies devoid of life, but other unseen things l

UltraViolet Grasslands 2E- Wish You Were Here... Welcome back dear fellow traveller, This will be an attempt to catalog my solo travels through the UltraViolet Grasslands 2E. The latest iteration of the setting, UltraViolet Grasslands 2E is a fantastical, psychedelic-metal, point-crawler RPG setting conceived from the brilliant mind of  Luka Rejec  (UVG editor, artist, and writer).   To say that I am very impressed by this setting is an understatement. However, this setting poses some challenges for the new solo player. UVG is more like a finely sketched canvas where the solo player fills in the color and the fine details of this incredible world. UVG offers story prompts, and the rest will be up to the solo player to co-create. There are many useful and creative tables to help you navigate the setting, along with a very detailed and well-organized GM screen to assist with the gameplay. The GM screen also offers detailed sequences of events at each location and discoveries to be made

So it begins...

Falling in love again...

King Arthur Pendragon, or KAP for short, is a game system that was not on my radar at all. When I started looking into this game I became smitten. Written by the late Greg Stafford, the legendary game designer of RuneQuest and Glorantha, KAP is considered a critically masterpiece in game design. To say that this RPG garners a relatively niche but passionate group of followers is an understatement. Gamers that discovered this game are still recounting to heroic deeds of their knight in the time of the Arthurian legend. A blurb from the publisher, Chaosium. .. "Relive the grandeur, romance and adventure of the greatest of all legends — the story of King Arthur. Assume the role of a knight starting his career in the time of Uther Pendragon, undertaking quests and perilous adventures for your lord, for your lady-love, for the Church, or for your own glory. Win great renown with your laudable deeds and feats of arms, perhaps even winning the right to carve your name into the Round

Nostalgia strikes again...

Hello again dear reader, I have to admit to not being very active these past few months with either the blog or solo gaming. The plan is to re-energize my efforts on the latest bug to bite me, Labyrinth Lord (LL) by Goblinoid Games. This retro ruleset harks back to the days of Moldvay/Cook D&D, full of nostalgia and updated rules. More of an in-depth Labyrinth Lord review will come later, but for a quick taste, go directly to the  Goblinoid Games  website for the art-free pdf version. With the purchase of Labyrinth Lord came the following purchases, purely driven out of nostalgia and the desire to play these adventures again! I will say that the PODs (print on demand) from DriveThroughRPG are very good and do justice to the original adventures. Maze of the Riddling Minotaur  This was a fantastic find and one of my first D&D purchases back in 1983. I am looking forward to solo adventuring, minus the invisible ink pen that came with the original adventure. I will tackle
