"For a long time you have heard legends about the Island of Vacros; when you were only a child, the stories about evil minotaurs were used to scare you into behaving. Now you are grown, and you no longer believe children's stories. But King Trueon of Cathos is worried: his daughter Princess Lydora has been kidnapped, and he has found clues that she has been taken to the ancient and evil island of Vacros. You have heard rumors that a large and dangerous mazework lies beneath the surface of the island - a mazework that is guarded by minotaurs. Of course many rumors are false, but then again ..."

Epilogue Spoilers ahead!
The volcanic spires of Vacros now in front of me. The forest covers much of the ancient city. Our ship makes landfall in the middle of the night. My guide, Ahmadi leads me to the heart of the evil temple. We sneak by a few guards into the ruins of the temple itself. Behind the altar is a large circular pit that leads down into darkness. Ahmadi lowers a slender rope, and I, Feros Champion of Chatos, descend into the swirling blackness.
I now stand in a murky passageway. Corridors leading in all directions, a torch lights the path in front of me, and begin the rescue mission. The stench of death and decay invade my senses, a faint mist raises from the soft ground. I begin my journey to the west.
In the depths of the labyrinth...
1) The corridor leads me to the West. [Area 54] A carved stone minotaur statue, as tall as a large man, stands in front of me. Holding a shiny great axe, the Obsidian statue turns and begins to recite a riddle...
You may see across my width. Through my beginnings and end can be leagues apart, I am forever moving. But you will see me in the same spot. What am I?
Alas, I was not able to solve this riddle and a sense of dread engulfs me...
Riddling Minotaur: AC 3, HD 6, hp 32, MV 120[40] #AT 1, D 2-8, Save F3, ML 12, AL N
(Oracle) Does Feros escape? Yes and...
I nimbly lower my body and swiftly go around the Obsidian minotaur; The closet corridor leads to the west. Lucky for me I am not followed.
2) The air is thick and the corridors dank. I meander West and then North. I check for traps. I spot one on the floor and carefully move around it. At an intersection, I proceed West and north again. My progress is slow and steady.
I backtrack to the main corridor and then proceed to the North.

3) I continue to the West. [Area 44] A tall copper statue of a serpent. The eyes are glowing with a green light. I carefully remove one gem and then another. I expect the worse to happen, silence.
2 x emerald gems worth 300 GP
I backtrack to the main corridor and then proceed to the North.
4) [Area 47] I enter a room piles of rotted wood all around me. I don't find anything of value. I briefly tend to my wounds and catch my breath.
5) I head back to the West, spot a corridor to the South and follow the passage. A corridor leads to the East [Area 63] Another Obsidian Mintour glimmers in the near darkness of my torch. The axe once again hovering my way. The following riddle is asked...
Sees without sight. Flies without feathers. Darkness is his favorite weather. What is he?
Sees without sight. Flies without feathers. Darkness is his favorite weather. What is he?
Clearing my throat the answer... a bat. The large statue stepped aside and I was allowed to continue my journey.
